Nick Cave and The Bat Seeds will play a NPR Showcase at South by South West in Austin March 13. The group will be performing at Stubbs. The band will also be playing in Dallas March 14. Other artists performing at the NPR Showcase have not yet been confirmed.
Paramore announced that they will have a North American tour. The rockers’ tour will start April 25 at Bayou Music Center in Houston. The group hasn’t had a tour in North America since 2010. Paramore has an album set to release April 9. This will be the band’s first album since Josh and Zac Farro left the group.
More in music, Surfer Bloood announces that they will release a new album titled “Python.” The album is due for release sometime during the summer. This is the bands debut album with Warner Bros. Surfer Blood’s will be performing at several shows on the West Coast, along with playing a March show during SXSW in Austin.
Jimi Hendricks inspired Future Hendricks for his next album. Future’s second album is set to release sometime this year. The rapper said that he has been collaborating with several people such as Timberland, Rihanna and Kanye West and that they might be on his upcoming album.
In Hollywood news, Frank Ocean and Chris Brown were reportedly in a brawl at a Los Angeles recording studio January 27. The Grammy nominees were said to be fighting over a parking space. Brown is listed as a suspect. Ocean’s name was not mentioned on the police’s statement.
In film news, a documentary about backup singers titled “Twenty Feet From Stardom” is set to release during the summer. The documentary premiered at the Sun Dance Film Festival earlier in January. The film explores the culture of supporting singers.
