Hey Ocean!, an upbeat pop band described has “one of Canada’s best up-and-coming acts” has just dropped their brand new album, Is, January of 2013. Hey Ocean! consists of the three distinctive personalities and vocals of Ashleigh Ball, David Beckingham, and Dave Vertesi, each bringing their special touch to the album. A good choice of words to describe Is all together would be energetic, cheerful, and fantastic! It’s definitely a feel good album that leaves the listener wanting to get up and dance around. Is takes you on a summer vacation that does not disappoint. My personal favorite tracks include the first single, “Big Blue Waves,” “Make a New Dance Up,” “Jolene.” It is said that their live shows are nothing less than a party so if you want to check them out, you’re in luck! Hey Ocean! is currently on tour through Canada and the United States and will also be playing SXSW in Austin this spring!
