Austin’s inaugural (and first ever) hip-hop festival put a new spin on the saying “Keep Austin Weird.”

The skinny: Weird City Fest, sponsored by Austin Mic Exchange, aimed to connect local and national hip-hop acts for a three-day Red River invasion late last month. The eclectic lineup included Phranchyze and MR Fest artist Chief and The Doomsday Device, among many others.
