Hailing from Amsterdam, Netherlands, Yellow Claw graced San Marcos, TX with an EDM show to remember. The show was Thursday, April 9, at The Marc. The night before having played at The Surrender Night Club in Las Vegas, Nevada. The trio, consisting of Bizzey, Jim Aasgier, and Nizzle, tweeted out “Who knows a decent barber out in San Marcos Texas?” at 1:20 p.. on April 9, then “On our way to Texas” a minute later. Texas State students anticipated their arrival, even promoting it on the Alkek stairs.

Tickets sold out the day of and The Marc filled up early in the night. Bobcats, Longhorns, and Roadrunners were among the many in mighty crowd.

Headliners pumped up the crowd till Yellow Claw took the stage at approximately 1:30 a.m. The trio played music from the Amsterdam Twerk Music EP to exclusive material from the new Blood For Mercy album, like Kaolo pt.3.

Front row was the place to be since MC Bizzey, interacted with the crowd the majority of the time, except for when there were concert goers on stage. Whether he was frustrated with their crazy antics or not, the show went on. The only time he actually allowed someone to climb on stage was when a man dressed like Mario, from Super Mario Bros, jumped on holding a banner he made that had the new album, Blood for Mercy, on it.

Throughout Yellow Claw’s set, Bizzey had the crowd moshing and even attempted a “Wall of Death.” There was also a twerk contest where at least 20 girls danced on stage. Throughout the night, members of Yellow Claw filmed their point of view on Snapchat to show fans the show. Overall, the show was exciting and even though there was no encore, like the crowd wanted, it was definitely clear through all the sweat and smiles that it was a great show!
