Flooding in Hays County and San Marcos has dissipated over the past few hours, leaving behind damaged homes, cars and uprooted families. Further flooding is expected early Monday morning for the area. Here’s what you need to know:

1. A curfew is in place for San Marcos, Wimberley and most of Hays County from 9 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday due to incoming inclement weather.

2. Shelters available for the area are the San Marcos Activity Center and Wimberley High School. All evacuees, regardless of where they’re staying, are asked to call (512) 393-7896 so the county can know who is safe and who is missing.

3. If you’re searching for loved ones or friends in San Marcos, you can call (512) 753-2180.

4. If your pet is missing, you can utilize the San Marcos Pets Facebook page to get the word out:

Please feel free to use our Facebook page to post lost and found pets due to the flooding. We have a fairly large audience reach in the area. Best wishes to all affected. Posted by San Marcos Pets on Sunday, May 24, 2015

5. For road closures, the Texas Department of Transportation provides an updated map where you can view flooding, construction and road closures here.

6. When approaching a flooded road, remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown. More than half of the deaths from flooding each year occur in vehicles. Watch the U.S. National Weather Service PSA here.

7. Certain residents using Crystal Clear Water or well water are under a water boiling advisory. Find out if you’re affected here.

8. Once flooding begins, it is recommended to not enter the river due to stray debris, runoff and strong currents.

9. Wanting to help? Serve San Marcos is organizing volunteers to help with flood recovery.

10. This flood is record-breaking, and could be again on Monday. (Statistics from the Blanco River flood.)

If you, your friends or loved ones are in need of emergency help, do not hesitate to call 9-1-1. Follow @KTSWNews for the latest #SMTXflood updates.
