53 Annual Texas Water Safari Postponed to June 27

The Texas Water Safari Board has announced that the 53^rd annual Texas Water Safari will be postponed to June 27^th instead of the original date, June 13^th, due to the recent floods on Memorial Day weekend.

The Texas Water Safari, known as the “The World’s Toughest Canoe Race”, is a 260 mile canoe race down various rivers and bay for 100 hours straight every year in June.

The board believes that the high waters could still be a huge factor by June 13^th and even if the water gets low enough, the board thinks the conditions left behind could make the race extremely difficult.
