Texas State is continuing to break records, announcing both the most diverse student body and the highest enrollment to date.

This marks the eighteenth consecutive year Texas State has set a new record for enrollment. As of this year, there are 38,006 students enrolled for the fall of 2015 compared to 36,764 for the fall of 2014. This new record was partly driven by the freshmen class which grew nearly 7% from last year.

Texas State President Denise M. Trauth says the increase in enrolled students reflects the achievements of Texas State students.

“These are exciting times for Texas State,” Trauth said. “Not only does the university have more students than ever before, we have more students taking more hours. That reflects strongly on our students’ success, and our students earning their degrees in a timely manner.”

The Texas State’s student body continues to diversify as well with minorities making up 49% of the student body. Hispanic enrollment increased nearly 9% and African-American enrollment increased more than 13%.

Other highlights include the Texas State University- Round Rock campus setting an enrollment record of 1,809 and the College of Science and Engineering, with an enrollment record of 5,880 students, which is an 11% increase from the fall of 2014 for the College of Science and Engineering.
