Welcome to Fit Tips and healthy living! To sum this segment up, it is about being healthy! Mind, body, and soul.  We will discuss simple, different  healthy choices and habits that make a huge difference in your life. We will explore different types of workout you can do! whether it’s running,  pilates, boxing, hip hop fitness, kickboxing, total body toning, kickboxing;  there are plenty of options out there! I know you’ve heard it said before but it’s true. Some people like the tread-mill and others don’t. Some people like running and some don’t. Some people lift weights and some don’t. Find what works for you!before you start on this journey,figure out your fitness goals.

If your goal is to lose body fat, the key is to burn more calories than you eat. 3500 calories equals one pound. That is clearly a lot. This is not to say that you will never eat a pizza again. But It is true. everything in moderation. I have found that sometimes you may be eating the wrong things or too much of the right things.

it is important to be healthy! Be active! I do get it. There is something called “the college diet” for a reason.

One thing that has helped me is eating less fries and drinking more water instead of sugary drinks, such as soda, lemon, hawaiian punch, gatorade Trust me, i still drink fanta and eat fries sometimes, just not as often as i used to.

Now, The work out we will be discussing today is zumba! Zumba is a cardio, dance fitness program that was created by Colombian choreographer/dancer Alberto Perez during the 1990s. It incorporates hip hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, and mambo. Zumba is a really, really good cardio workout! it burns tons of calories but in a fun way! It increases endurance, strength, and muscle toning. Zumba is fun! it’s dancing. You don’t have to do the movements like everyone. Interpret it how you want.You get in what you put out. Make it fun! get into the movements. The problem i see with group exercises in general is that you can get so confused and lost depending on the instructor. But, remember that the more times you do, the better you get. it is important to find a an instructor that you like!

So in this episode i have my good friend and work out buddy Ladorscha Marrow. She is a senior. she is a child development major and i am excited to have this girl on the show

Last thing i want to say I know school just started not that long ago but you’re already busy. I know for me my schedule has definitely increased since school started. I want to remind everyone to take at least a minute or two, literally, to just sit down and think. breathe. There is a big difference between productivity and being busy.
