The San Marcos Police Department have taken a suspect into custody after a Texas State student was found dead in his home.
Police received a call around 8 a.m. from the victim’s roommate, Esaia Kemuel Morris (05/05/1994), reporting that he found 20 year old Francisco Sierra (2/04/1996) dead in his room at the Villagio Apartments with a gunshot wound to the head.
Morris was taken to the police department for questioning, where he later confessed to shooting and killing Sierra before disposing of the weapon in a body of water near Morris’s place of work, Epic Piping.
Morris later lead police to the body of water, where dive teams were able to locate the weapon.
Morris has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held at the Hays County Jail on $1 million dollar bond. Police believe there is no threat to the public.
An autopsy has been ordered on Sierra’s body, and will be conducted by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office.
