Everyone wants full plump voluptuous lips, but surgery just seems like a very permanent and scary commitment sometimes (not that there is anything wrong with surgery,) so here are some quick and easy tips to achieve fuller lips with just some makeup!

First, lets talk about contouring and highlighting. With your top lip you want to highlight your cupids bow ever so slightly with concealer, light eyeshadow, or a foundation that’s a few shades lighter than your natural shade. By doing this, light will reflect off of it giving your top lip a “poutier” look. The same goes for your bottom lips except you want to contour so using a darker brown eyeshadow or your bronzer. You want to dab just a little bit of color under the center of your bottom lip. This is my favorite trick because it really makes your bottom lip seem more out and “poutier” as well. My favorite bronzer to use to contour is the Bare Minerals Faux Tan All- Over face bronzer.

My second trick is to exfoliate your lips! Well this isn’t even really a trick, seeing that you’re suppose to be exfoliating your lips every time you brush your teeth but most people forget too; just like with flossing! Exfoliating your lips gives them a natural plump and glow, not to mention it also takes away the dead skin that’s making your lips so chapped, especially in winter. So exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate!

Lastly, we’re moving on to lipliners. When lining your lip, the trick is to only line above the middle of your lips. So line above your natural lip line ever so slightly on your cupids bow area and the middle of your bottom lip but gradually bring it around and down to your natural lip line. If you just over line your whole lip, you might end up looking like a duck. After your lip line is finished, apply your lipstick and blend it in and voila – fuller lips instantly! The most important thing to remember when doing this is to only use matte lipsticks; no gloss, shine or glitter! The reason for this is because shine creates light and light brings any creases to attention so when you’re over lining your lips, you don’t want anyone to notice that!

Now, you don’t have to use all these lips. On most days, I just use the contour trick and I’m good to go. These are just a few options you can try out to see which one works best for your lips and to your liking. And hey, if you feel like doing all of them then more power to ya!
