The Coathangers are a three-piece all girl indie punk rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. I first heard from this band quite a few years back through a friend. I gripped a few of their cassettes through Burger Records, instantly becoming a fan. I’ve been anticipating what they were going to put out next. I got a chance to hear a few songs off this album through Suicide Squeeze SoundCloud: “Make it Right, “Nosebleed Weekend” and “Watch Your Back.”

I like what I’ve heard thus far, but “Nosebleed Weekend” is what really has caught my ear. The intro guitar riff pulls you in with an almost seductive samurai sound of enthusiasm, setting the tone for the rest of the song. I can envision the crowd singing a long with this classic chorus, screaming the words while the band plays live. The Coathangers usually record in Atlanta, but for this album, they went out to California at Valentine Recording Studios in North Hollywood. This is a fitting transition to a more polished sound for this three-piece female band, I look forward to hearing the rest of the album.
