SFA surprised Texas State at the start of the match taking the first set 25-21. Texas State answered back by taking the next three sets by scores of 25-22, 25-19 and 25-20. Texas State dominated the match by leading over SFA in points, kills, aces, blocks, assists and digs.
Kohl had a game leading three blocks while Emily Shelton was everywhere on the court with a game high 35 assists.
Texas State was once trailing in the second set 19-16 before going on to take that set 25-22 and not looking back the rest of the match.
Texas State now moves onto 2-3 on the season and plays again Friday night in the classic against Kennesaw State at 7 p.m from Strahan Coliseum before wrapping up against Tulsa at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
