The Texas Longhorns drove down I-35 to face off against the Texas State Bobcats. In what was a 10 inning roller coaster ride for the three thousand plus fans that came to Bobcat Ballpark, the Bobcats were able to pull out the 11-10 win.

The Bobcats were able to battle back from being down 10-7 going into the bottom of the ninth scoring two runs off Luke Sherley’s single to right field and Jacob Almendarez’s sacrifice fly to center field. The Bobcats were able to hold off the Longhorns in the top of the 10th thanks to some excellent pitching by Blake Walden who was able to secure his fifth win of the season, all coming during relief work. In the bottom of the 10th Luke Sherley was the man to play heartbreaker for UT, singling to right field and scoring first basemen Ryan Newman from second.

The top Bobcat in the win was shortstop Luke Sherley, who went 4-5 and had 4 RBIs, three of which came in the last two innings of play. Almendarez went 3 -4 with two RBIs and Derrike Scheilbe continued with the tear that he has been on hitting a homerun with the lone hit he had in the match up. The Longhorns top man was Left Fielder, Tate Shaw, who went 4-6 with four RBIs in the match. Relief Pitcher, Parker Joe Robinson, was credited with the loss, his first of the season.

The Bobcats play their next game at home against Sun Belt rival Appalachian State in a three game series. First game is Friday at 4 pm at Bobcat Ballpark.
