Riding the Pine: Episode Four

First off, we here with KTSW Sports hope your Thanksgiving was good. I hope the turkey was moist and the pie was pecan (because that’s the best one). Personally, I gained all the weight back I had lost since coming back to college, and “Sweat-cember” started early this year.

This podcast is the best one we’ve done yet. I’m joined by the MVRP (Most Valuable Role Player) Brenden Snow for yet another podcast.

We start talking about Thanksgiving (2:05) and we find out that Brenden is complete and total garbage for not liking green bean casserole, which is a pillar for not only Thanksgiving but also humanity. We then jump into the online trend of people getting married younger and younger (3:11), which to me is dumber and dumber. Speaking of dumb, Texas State football finished their season Friday, which finally gives us the chance to light a prayer candle for next season to be better (5:25). Brenden and I also tackle the biggest controversy on Texas State Twitter (outside of fraternities, we aren’t touching that), the Year One vs. Year Zero (7:07) and how it affects year ⅔ of Coach Everett Withers and a peek at next season (11:38). Texas State basketball is underway (15:01) and the men’s team (18:01) was able to sandwich a loss in between two wins last weekend, but again, none of this matters outside of Sun Belt Conference play. On Thursday, volleyball (21:05) hosts the equivalent of the NIT Thurdsay where they will be playing teams like Texas Tech, SMU and Rice–all teams that the Bobcats should beat.

The important/disappointing part of the weekend was the fact I went 2 and 3 which drags my overall total down to 5 and 5 on the season (22:33) and we move into Brenden’s Picks (they’re trash) (23:40).

The newest segment that brings the most joy to our joyless lives is “AFC Trash Talk” which boils down to us talking about the conference that has been run by Tom Brady for two decades (26:54). Blake Bortols is terrible, but he just might be bad enough to sneak into the AFC Championship game.

Don’t bet on the Buffalo Bills. Get off the bench and get out there.
