SAN MARCOS, TX– Hays County reported 445 active COVID-19 cases on September 30. Active cases dropped by nearly 40 since September 28. There are 93 active cases among students, according to Texas State University on September 30.

The 55th COVID-19 fatality in San Marcos was reported on September 28, according to the San Marcos Daily Record.

Texas State University is offering free COVID-19 testing for students starting Monday, September 28 through Friday, October 9 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on campus.

All tests will be conducted through an oral swab and results will be brought back within 48 hours, according to Texas State University.

As of September 29, there are 743,284 cases in 242 counties in Texas, according to the Texas Tribune.
