The Texas State Bobcats fell to 1-5 on the season after yet another close loss this past Saturday at South Alabama.
The Bobcats played well once again and were tied up with the Jaguars 17-17 going into the fourth quarter, but once again couldn’t finish losing 30-20.
Quarterback Brady McBride appears to have won the quarterback competition over Tyler Vitt after the two had both seen action early in the season due to COVID-19.
McBride had arguably the best performance of his young Texas State career completing 28 of 40 attempts for 260 yards and a touchdown on the day.
The Bobcat defense played well but could not get the stops late needed to pull out the victory.
Nico Ezidore added another sack increasing his team-leading total to 2.5 on the season.
The road from here on out does not get any easier as the Bobcats will head to Provo, Utah to take on undefeated #12 BYU and Heisman hopeful quarterback Zach Wilson. Wilson has thrown for 1641 yards this season with 12 touchdowns and just one INT.
Texas State will likely need a big day offensively to keep up with BYU’s offense that is averaging almost 44 points per game.
Kickoff is set for 8:15 P.M on Oct. 24th and will be broadcasted on ESPN.
