Last.fm: The Music App that Tracks Rotations

As an avid music tracker and someone obsessed with Spotify’s yearly wrapped, I love being able to recounter what I have been actively listening to.

For this purpose I use Last.fm, an app that tells you your top artist, albums and tracks for the past 7, 30, 90, 180 or 365 days. The app also lets you check your “scrobbles,” which records the songs you have listened to, the order you heard them in and with how long ago you last listened. 

For the past month, my top three artists have been Drake, Paramore and Jack Harlow. I typically listen to a lot of rap songs, but for the past few months, I have been obsessing over Paramore. Paramore along with Drake and Jack Harlow just make me feel lively and euphoric.

I like that Last.fm gives me this ability to track what I have been listening to and how often because I get to retrace my steps and relive songs that were on repeat for certain seasons and reasons. 

My top three tracks for the past three months were “What’s Next” by Drake, “Route 66” by Jack Harlow (Ft. Est Gee) and “The Kiss Of Venus” by Dominic Fike.

The app even lets you know how often you listened to these tracks within a time period.

“What’s Next” had 31 scrobbles, “Route 66” had 16 scrobbles and “The Kiss Of Venus” had 15 scrobbles. At the end of the month, I may drive myself crazy overplaying these tracks, but it is interesting to view the data of how much music I am actually consuming. 

Overall for the past month, I have been consuming three main artists as well as mixed genres of hip hop, pop-punk and alternative.

Last.fm also provides short biographies, top tracks and similar artist recommendations.
