Background

I love a good podcast just as much as the next person. There are a ton of great podcasts to listen to, but it can be hard deciding which one to play in the background.

So, I decided to share some of my favorite podcasts to throw on any day.

The Film Reroll:

Did you ever wonder what would happen if professional writers did not write movies, but instead by some nerds around a table chatting non-sense for two hours? Me neither, but that is what you get with this podcast. The hosts of this podcast improvise their way through a movie by rolling dice that tell them if they succeed or fail, and thus the story changes.

How Did This Get Made?:

This podcast also deals with films, but this time hosts sit around a table and complain about a terrible movie wondering aloud how it came to be. They do not take any actual steps to answer that question, but it is still funny and quite entertaining as they dissect films.

Why Won’t You Date Me?:

If you remember Nicole Byer from MTV’S Girl Code and you loved her, then you will love her podcast. Byer talks about her struggles of dating in this hilariously funny and sometimes raunchy podcast. This podcast is great to listen to with your adult friends, but I would keep some headphones near me if I were anywhere else!

Wine & Crime:

If you are like me, then you love listening to crime stories. In this podcast, three friends chug wine, chat true crime, and unleash their worst Minnesotan accents. These ladies are an absolute treat to listen to and have a great way of telling stories. They discuss everything from cyanide crimes, murderous family trees, and killer BFFs.

Myths and Legends:

Myths and Legends is a podcast where the host tells stories from mythology and folklore. Many of these stories are well known, even with their surprising origins. Other stories may be new to you. Regardless, they are worth the listen. The podcast covers everything from Indian folklore, Greek myths, medieval legends and even Grimm Brothers stories.

Hardcore History:

If you have listened to this podcast before, then you can agree that Dan Carlin is one of the best story-tellers around. He yells at you for five hours about people who have been dead for three thousand years, but figures out how to make you care about it. Dan has some other pretty cool podcasts to check out when you have time, like Common Sense.

Well, there you have it, just a few of my favorite podcasts. If you listen to any of these and you decide you hate them, then I will go to my room and cry.

Just kidding, but there is something for everyone. Do not be afraid to try out different podcasts. You never know what you might find.
