By Reily Chestnut Sports Director MOBILE, AL - The tough times that have plagued Bobcat football over the last six years continued to leave Bobcat fans wondering “why me?” after this matchup in the Heart of Dixie. The final score read 41-31 South Alabama over Texas State. But the aftermath of this game left Bobcat fans feeling like they had lost a golden ticket to celebrate the team’s first conference […]
By Alexander Haynes Sports Reporter The first three games for Texas State Bobcat Football set up the perfect variation of challenges; three subsequent circumstances which a coach covets to test and develop his team. The fight against the Big Ten’s Rutgers Scarlet Knights in Piscataway, New Jersey was a 35-7 loss, but a loss which thrusted a young team into the lime light of power five competition. The home opener […]
By Alexander Haynes Sports Reporter There is an important distinction between winning ugly and winning in ugly situations. Despite a plethora of rain, lightning, potential lightning, and despondent, dark weather which forced the third quarter to last an hour, the Texas State Bobcats won their home opener against the Texas Southern Tigers 36-20. The bland sky did not keep the demeanor of the team down, rushing 52 times for 304 […]

Krawczyk and graduate transfer Keenan Brown were some of the key contributors in the team’s first victory. Not much excitement took place during the first quarter of the game. Due to a lightning delay, the game had a relatively slow start. […]

The 35-7 loss was anything but a fresh take on a season brimming in otherwise optimistic […]

[…]
By Alexander Haynes Sports Reporter Exiting the balmy skies of San Marcos, the Texas State Bobcats will be thundering into New Brunswick, New Jersey, eager to reveal a new athleticism, a new quarterback, and new plans for the 2018 season against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. By Alexander Haynes Sports Reporter The competition at spring training camp, summer training camp, and all those moments in between has been palpable. Although the weather in San Marcos remains upward of 100 degrees on the Monday before the Texas State Bobcats take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, the competitive atmosphere in the football complex had a weather system to call its own. At the same time, competition was breeding […]
