Foster Care Alumni Creating Educational Success also known as FACES is a project helping students who grew up in foster care attend college and have the help they need along the way.
National statistics show that only five to eleven percent of children in the foster care system ever go to college and just two to three percent graduate. The program’s goal is the retention and graduation of their current foster care alumni students. Assistant professor, Christine Norton, is very proud of the foster care students and their accomplishments here at Texas State.
“It is amazing how resilient these students are and how hard they work and how committed they are to giving back.”
– Christine Norton
FACES received a public benefit grant worth 90-thousand dollars that helped them develop their program and provide more engagement funds to help with their foster care alumni.
