Segment 1: Name Drop

– Kevin Durant was drafted in 2007 by the Seattle SuperSonics. After completing his rookie season he went to the Oklahoma City Thunder where he is the current, starting foward.
– Damian Lillard was drafted two years ago by the Portland Trailblazers. He started 82 games in his 2012-2013 rookie season and won Rookie Of the Year.
– American snowboarder, Sage Kotsenburg, grabbed his first gold medal at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics in Snowboard Slopestyle. He won with a board grab he invented himself, “The Holy Crail”.

Segment 2: Texas State Talk

– Texas State Men’s Basketball defeated ULM last Thursday & lost to Louisiana. They are 7-16 on the season and 3-7 in Sun Belt Conference play. To catch the guys in action, checkout the Men’s Basketball Schedule.
– Texas State Women’s Basketball went 2-0 this past weekend. The Bobcats’ overall record is 10-11 but in conference play they are much more impressive with a winning record of 7-3.
– Texas State Baseball is getting their season underway against Michigan this Friday to kick off the Texas State Invitational.

Segment 3: Texas State and Professional Sports

– Texas State Softball went 3-1 this past weekend in the CenturyLink Classic. On Wednesday the Bobcats take on Houston Baptist here in San Marcos at six in the evening. The team will play in the Campbell Cartier Classic in San Diego. The tournament begins on Valentine’s Day.
– NCAA hoops saw several upsets for top 25 teams. Talk on the Marcus Smart controversy continues.

Segment 4: Final Rant

– NBA – Spurs face Detroit Pistons tonight at 7:30PM. The Dalas Mavericks have won 5 straight and take on the Bobcats tonight at 7PM. The Houston Rockets play the Timberwolves tonight at 8PM.
