The Construction Student Association will be teaming up with the student chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers for a Bobcat Build project this spring. CSA Vice President and guitarist of Rock Bottom String Band, Alex Schultz along with fiddle player Mackenzie Dart, explained the details of the project to build a house for a low-income family in San Marcos. To raise money for construction materials for the project, the CSA and ASID held a fundraising concert at Tantra Coffee House. CSA Secretary and singer/songwriter Karen Thomas also told us all about how the Construction Student Association helps students pursue careers in the construction business sector. The Student Urban Planner’s Organization hosted its first Smash The City event, a concert at Triple Crown to benefit the San Marcos community. Fundraising Chair Garrett Martin and Secretary Ben Moore visited the studio to talk and promote urban planning. The Texas State University SUPO chapter seeks to expand the knowledge of all sub-sectors of the Department of Geography to its students through hands on experience, lectures by professionals, travelling, and projects.
