Texas State Baseball:

  • The Bobcat Baseball won one game of 3 this weekend against the No. 3 ranked Louisiana-Lafayette Rajun’ Cajuns. Next up the Bobcats will play Texas A&M on Tuesday at 6:35pm

Texas State Softball:

  • After winning game 1, the Texas State Bobcat softball team drop the last two games of a 3-game series against the Troy Trojans this past weekend. Up next for the Bobcats, they will host UT-Arlington this weekend for the final conference series of the season.

MLB:

  • The Texas Rangers lost this past Sunday to the Seattle Mariners 6-5. They will host the Athletics on Monday night at 7pm
  • The Houston Astros beat the Oakland Athletics 5-1 this past Sunday and will play the Washington Nationals on Tuesday at 7:10pm

NBA Playoffs:

  • The Toronto Raptors tied up the series with the Brooklyn Nets in game 4 this past Saturday 87-79
  • The Indiana Pacers tied up their series with Hawks after a 91-88 win on Saturday
  • The Washington Wizards extended their series lead to 3-1 after a win on Sunday 98-89
  • The Miami Heat are up 3 games to none after a 98-85 victory over the Bobcats
  • The Golden State Warriors blew out the Clippers 118-97 on Sunday and tied up the series 2-2
  • The Memphis Grizzlies fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder 92-89 in Game 4. Game 5 is set for 8pm back in Oklahoma City
  • Vince Carter hit a last-second 3-pointer putting the Mavericks on top of the Spurs on Saturday night. The Mavericks now lead the series 2-1
  • The Trail Blazers won in overtime fashion over the Rockets on Sunday night123-120. Game 5 is set to be played in Houston Wednesday night at 8:30pm.

NFL:

  • The Dallas Cowboys resigned Anthony Spencer for a 1-year contract worth up to $3.5 million
  • Calvin Johnson says he will continue to dunk the football over the goal post after scoring touchdowns this next season, even though the NFL changed the rules stating players can no longer use the goal post since it is a prop.

This Day in Sports History:

  • 1901— Cleveland’s Bock Baker gives up a record 23 singles as White Sox beat the Cleveland Blues 13-1
