This weekend marks the 6th Annual Utopia Festival, a camping and music festival staged two hours west of San Marcos. The festival expects to draw a crowd, but not a large one. The festival’s ticket sales are capped at 2,000 people.
During the festival, more than 20 bands will perform on two stages with no musical overlap. The goal of festival organizers Travis Southerland and Onion Creek Productions is to reduce the worst aspects of festivals. Nine food vendors will also be on site, but the festival is bring your own drink and food friendly.

Bashi’s music borrows from every genre and multiple languages — he can incorporate Afrikaans, Korean, pop, and psych, into a high-spirited adventure.Electronic artist Dan Deacon is famous for his crowd interaction. Deacon’s been known to lead fans in coordinated movements, from kneeling to moving together in a circle.
