The Texas State Women’s Soccer team look to continue their winning steak this weekend against TCU (3-3) at 7 p.m. today and UTSA (3-2) at 1 p.m. Sunday. So far in the young season the Bobcats have netted 10 goals, while allowing only one.
Defense was one of the weaknesses the team’s Head Coach Kat Conner expressed in the preseason.
“They take great pride in what they do, so they are going to be tenacious back there and we’re really excited with what they’re doing so far.”
Keeping clean sheets this weekend is going to be tough as TCUÂ comes into this weekend having scored five goals in their last two games.
“Nothing’s changed. We have been practicing the same thing day-in-and-day-out trying to iron out our mistakes and be that much sharper,” said senior midfielder Ali Myers. “They get a lot of praise for being a big school, but we’re going to show every we’ve earned every win this year and we are a good team.”
The Bobcats attack has been strong all season and has been led by the talented forward trio of junior Lynsey Curry, senior Tori Hale and freshman Kassi Hormuth, who, combined, are responsible for seven of the 10 goals scored this season. Look for the Bobcats to continue their attack this weekend.
All games this weekend can be heard on KTSW, with pregame coverage starting at 6:45 today and 12:45 Sunday. The games are played at the soccer complex, located next to Texas State’s Student Recreation Center. Admission is free.
