Last night the Texas State Women’s basketball team hosted the Troy Trojans is a Sun Belt Conference matchup. A late first half run by Troy gave them the half time lead. Coach Zenarae Antoine discussed what adjustments the team had to make at halftime.
“I think the disappointing thing about that is that we talked about that in the locker room. If I had to point one thing that I was disappointed with the team is that we didn’t stick true to what we talked about and that’s our ability to attack sometimes. We were one and done a lot didn’t hit the offensive glass and that made it really tough on us. When we take quick shots or we don’t hit the offensive glass, and there are times in their defense we went smaller but it was that smaller group that really brought us back in the game to be honest with you we basically went with an all guard lineup.”
Erin Peoples led the Bobcats with 16 points offensively as the team tried to fight a win at home. Troy took the win 75-59. Texas State is now 10-7 in the Sun Belt Conference in 4th place. Bobcats next game in Saturday February 28th at 2:00pm. It is Senior night and the teams three seniors, Meghan Braeuer, Jacqueline Jeffcoat, and Kileah Mays will be honor before the game.
