Following a tough 6-4 loss to the Longhorns, the 10-13-1 Bobcats face a hot 16-11 Georgia Southern team in a three game series this weekend, the first game of which will be tonight in San Marcos at 6 pm. In order to establish a definite edge in the race for the Sunbelt title, the Bobcats have to beat the best teams this conference has to offer, namely Georgia Southern team currently ties for first place in the Sunbelt with the Bobcats.
Assistant Coach Jeremy Fikac emphasizes the importance of tonight’s game, “One, for our kids to compete. They understand what’s at stake. One of our goals is to win the Sunbelt. And so our guys are aware of that and they’ll step into that moment, as coach Harrington would say, and they’re gonna compete their tails off.”
Lucas Humpal takes the mound for the Bobcats tonight and Scott Grist takes the mound for tomorrow’s game. Tomorrow’s game against Georgia Southern will be at 3pm and Sundays game will start off at noon, and all three games of the series will be heard right here on KTSW 89.9.
