The Texas State baseball team enjoyed a thrilling 13-10 win against I-35 rival UTSA Tuesday night. They now look to play four games over the next five days.
They take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Wednesday night at Bobcat Ballpark at six p.m. during a midweek series. Texas State is coming into this game 19-10 on the season with the Islanders 11-16 on the season. Texas State took on the Islanders earlier this season were the Bobcats came up with a 11-0, eight-inning victory. Bobcats are 30-9 all-time versus the Islanders. The Islanders are 8-12 on the season and coming off of a 5-0 win versus The University of Texas Tuesday night. They are hitting a .259 average on the season with only 10 home runs; Tanner Hill has nine. They have an average ERA of 4.59 and have given up 12 home runs, two of those being from Texas State in their first meeting.
This weekend, the Bobcats face the Nevada Wolfpack in a three game series at Bobcat Ballpark. Nevada is 13-13 on the season with a 6-5 record in the Mountain West Conference. The Bobcats come in with a 9-3 record in Sun-Belt play. Nevada is 5-7 on the road while the Bobcats are 13-5 at home. The Bobcats will look to score fast and early on the Wolfpack as the Wolfpack has been outscored in the first inning 30-17 this year. Nevada is coming in though winning six out of their last seven games and will be looking to improve that streak. Games take place in San Marcos at 6 p.m. on Friday, 3 p.m. on Saturday and at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
