With the regular season now over for the Sun Belt conference, eight of the eleven teams are hitting the road to battle it out for the top spot in San Marcos, Texas.
Here’s what the final standings looked like at the end of the season with only the top eight earning a spot at Bobcat Ballpark.

The Rajin’ Cajuns of UL Lafayette and the Jaguars of South Alabama dominated the regular season. Texas State was swept by South Alabama at home and went 1-2 in Lafayette. Even though the two teams share the regular season title, UL Lafayette gets the Number 1 seed in the tournament because they own the regular season series 2-3 in Mobile.
Texas State comes in as the fifth seed and will be playing Troy who sits in the fourth place spot. Troy came into San Marcos back in April and took two of three from the Bobcats.
Jonathan Hennigan, who got the start on the Sunday game of that series, was the only successful pitcher during that weekend. Pasquale Mazzoccoli also recorded one of record-setting 10 saves in that ball game as well.
This is how the bracket breaks down:

Game 2
No. 2 South Alabama v. No. 7 UT Arlington
May 25 at 12:30 p.m.
South Alabama swept UTA

No. 4 Troy v. No. 5 Texas State
May 25 at 4 p.m.
Troy owns series 2-3
Game 4
No.1 UL Lafayette v. No 8 Arkansas State
May 25 at 7:30 p.m.
UL Lafayette owns series 2-3
The tournament will be played double elimination style.
