Texas State Junior Jordan Kohl and the Team USA Deaf Volleyball have advanced to the finals of the PAN AM games against Brazil. Kohl has started every game thus far, contributing in sweeps of Canada and Argentina and Canada again in the semifinals.
With a win in the tournament finale, Team USA will have locked in a spot in the 23rd Deaflympics to be held in Samsun, Turkey, July 18-30. Kohl and Team USA have a perfect record and are looking to use that momentum to beat Brazil and ultimately win the gold at the Deaflympics.
After the dominating outings in the previous three matches, it seems it may be gold or bust for Team USA at the PAN AM games. Before Kohl and Team USA take on the world, they have some time to practice. The team will be competing in the 2016 World Deaf Championship from July 6-15 in Washington D.C. at Gallaudet University. The Team USA Deaf Volleyball team is part of the USA Deaf Sports Federation (USADSF) which serves as a governing body of deaf sports organizations in the United States.
In over 70 as an organization the USADSF has produced national champions, record holders and Deaflympic medalist.
