The game was yet another defensive struggle for the Bobcats with only three shots on goal for either team. The second goal of the entire season came in double overtime for the New Mexico State Aggies as Aileen Galicia kicked it in off the rebound in the 111th minute of the contest. This will be the third game in a row where the Bobcats have failed to score a goal, but their defensive tenacity still seems to be in top form.

This loss moves the Bobcats to 2-2-1 in the season. This was the first win for the Aggies putting them at 1-4-0. The Bobcat’s competition gets a little tougher as they wrap up their road trip out west in El Paso against the undefeated Miners. The University of Texas at El Paso Miners sit at a pretty record of 2-0-2 and have won three of the last four games against the Bobcats. Their overall record against the Bobcats is 10-2-1, and they look to continue that dominance.
As for our Bobcats, this next game will be a statement game, and our girls will be looking for redemption against our rivals out west. The game starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 4.
