Friday night-lights will be shining even brighter this week in San Marcos as the San Marcos Rattlers begin district play. The Rattlers will be hosting the Akins Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The game will be held at San Marcos High School football stadium.
The Rattlers are coming off a bye week last week after defeating McCollum, in San Antonio the week before by a score of 49-27. The Rattlers head into Friday holding a 2-3 pre-district record but have high expectations for district.
Offensive Line coach, Bruce Webb, isn’t really concerned about the bye week coming in after a win and losing any momentum from it.
Akins will head down into San Marcos coming off their third straight loss looking to get back on track. Akins also holds a 2-3 record and would love to get back in the win column by stealing a win on the road here. Webb also touched on how Akins has looked this year despite the 2-3 start, and how his guys must be ready.
The real season starts now for the Rattlers with all teams starting over 0-0. These are the games that determine if you make the playoffs or not. Look for the Rattlers to come out with some energy Friday night.
At the game, be sure to check out our KTSW tent. We will be out there handing out fliers and answering all kinds of questions you may have about us.
