Nikki Sanchez and Joseph Meade performed greatly at the UIW Invitational and were recognized for it. They are members of the Texas State Cross Country Team and were named Sun Belt Conference Runners of the Week.
Meade (sophomore) lead the men’s team to a second place finish, and placed second with a time of 24:07 on the 8k course. He shaved 40 seconds of his time. It is the first time Meade has won this award.
Sanchez placed 13th in the women’s 6k course and got a time of 22:48. That helped the team get fourth place overall. That is her second time to win this award.
Texas State gets back to it at the Sun Belt Conference Championship Saturday, Oct. 29. The races are being held at Troy University in Dothan, Alabama.
