Bobby Conley and Kavin Gilder-Tilbury led the way for the Bobcats against A&M Corpus Christi, putting up 19 points and 20 points respectively. Those were losing efforts, however, as the Islanders were just too much in the second half.

The Bobcats took a 28 to 26 after the first half, and the grind it out slow motion pace really favored the Bobcats. They even were able to overcome the 8-1 start by the Islanders. The second half was a different story; as the pace got faster, the scoreboard got to moving in the Islander’s favor. The second half score was 47 to 41 Islanders, and that resulted in a Bobcats’ loss 73 to 69.
It was still a great home opener performance, and the Bobcats looked competitive with a 2-2 record. The next game will be played in San Antonio against rivals from down the road, the UTSA Roadrunners. That game will start at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and can be heard right here on KTSW 89.9. The Bobcats look to improve on their defense and really set the tone for 40 minutes. If they can do that, they can get back to their winning ways in no time.
