The Bobcats traveled down the I-35 corridor to play the UTSA Roadrunners on their three-game road trip. After beating the University of Houston Cougars last Thursday, the Bobcats seemed to have a winners hangover. The Roadrunners jumped out to a 10 point lead in the first quarter and never looked back, beating the Bobcats 72 to 47.
The Bobcats’ sloppy play was part of the reason for their large loss, with 17 turnovers and only shooting 27% from the field. It was one of those nights where nothing really could go right for the Bobcats who on defense gave up double digits every quarter. The only lead the Bobcats held was a 2-0 lead to start the game, after that they were trying to claw their way back into it.
Taeler Deer was the was Bobcats’ leading scorer with 12 and lead the Bobcats in rebounds too, pulling down 7 boards. UTSA’s Loryn Goodwin was lead all scorers with 20 points on 6-12 shooting.
The Bobcats play next Tuesday in Waco facing off against the Baylor Bears at 7 p.m.
