In a very physical matchup with Northern Arizona the Bobcats fell short by a score of 2-0. As Coach Conner mentioned on Bobcat Radio the team did not know what to expect when going against the Lumberjacks. Northern Arizona was the bigger and more physical team all night. It showed in the 2nd half when Freshman Defender (for the Bobcats) Sarah Everett went down with a lower body injury and was unable to return to action.
The Lumberjacks scored both of their goals early in the 1st half and never looked back. One of the goals came from Midfielder Mei-Te Coco and the other came from Midfielder Carly Gamble. NAU ended the game with 15 shots and 9 of them on goal. Texas State ended the game with 10 shots and only 3 of them on goal. The Bobcats look to get back to the win column Sunday against Louisiana Tech with that game starting at 1pm. That game will be here at the Bobcat Soccer Complex, so feel free to come out and support these ladies. If someone chooses to stay inside they can follow along on txstatebobcats.com.
