The Texas State Bobcats were embarrassed with a 44 to 14 loss to UTSA in front of a crowd over 33,000. The UTSA Roadrunners had a great rushing attack led by Jalen
Rhodes who had 15 carries for a whopping 174 yards and 2 touchdowns. That comes out to over 11 yards per carry. Tyrell Clay and Brett Winnegan also had a touchdown each to contribute to this beatdown. UTSA Senior QB Dalton Sturm commanded the offence efficiently with 212 passing yards and completed 17 of his 25 passes while tacking on 37 rushing yards. Moving to the Texas State side not much positive news can be said other than Damian Williams rushed and passed for a touchdown to get the Bobcats to their 14 point total. Jeremiah Haydel (the Freshman receiver) caught the pass from Williams to pick up the touchdown the Cats got through the air.
Bobcats had two players go down tonight worth noting. Wide receiver Mason Hays went out with a leg injury and defensive end Ishmael Davis also got hurt. Both of those players were able to return to the game. The Bobcats move to 1-3 overall, and still sit at 0-1 in conference play.
The Bobcats play next Saturday up in Wyoming to take on the Cowboys. That game will start at 3 with a 2:45 pregame right here on KTSW.
