This October 28th-29th, Mala Luna returns to San Antonio, TX for another year. The festival is known as a benefiting network for young artists and is quickly drawing in concert lovers from all over the nation because of its astonishing line up. With so many artists to see and an emphasis on the bigger names of music, it may be difficult figured out whose set is worth watching. Here are a few performers you don’t want to miss:

Migos

Best known as one of the best hip hop groups in America, Migos once started their career in the small city of Lawrenceville, GA. They are now recognized for their many albums and singles such as handsome and wealthy, pipe it up, and bad and boujie. They are planning on dropping another album called Culture 2, which means we can expect nothing but great energy on stage.

Khalid

A recent graduate from El Paso, Khalid became newly famous after collaborating with artists like Logic, Calvin Harris, and Alina Baraz. His album“American Teen” was released March 2017 and received raving reviews from fans and individuals that had just heard of him. Khalid’s music is not only emotional, but also reminiscent and soulful. Check out his set at the Beat Stage at 5:30.

Kurt Rockmore

If you’re looking for a new artist to get into, head over to Kurt Rockmore’s show at 2:15 on Saturday. As an upcoming hip hop/rap artist, he puts a unique twist on his music that is unlike anything in this genre. He also performs with a live band that is called the Life of the Party, so be prepared for great vibes and a new sound.

J.I.D.

In February 2017, J.I.D. was signed with J. Cole’s Dreamville Records. As an artist from Atlanta, GA, his upbringing influences his sound tremendously. A lot of his songs can switch flows from smooth poetic verses to old hip-hop feels with bars that seem unreal. For some genuine old school influenced rap, hit up J.I.D.’s set from 3:40 to 4:10 this Saturday.

Ugly God

From the city of Houston, Texas, Ugly God is also making an appearance at Mala Luna this weekend. Although he is best known for his single “Water”, his album “The Booty Tape” was dropped in 2017 and includes debut songs like “No Lies” with Wiz Khalifa and “Like a Maverick”.  Ugly God makes rap that is carefree and entertaining, so definitely look forward to hype songs and to being a part of an even more hype crowd.
