The semester was one for the books. The San Marcos Rattlers showed us that they are here to stay with Head Coach Mark Soto calling into the show almost every week to talk about the progression of the team and his Dallas Cowboy struggles. The Texas State Football team looked like a program that is going to be breaking our hearts for a few more seasons. Texas State Soccer and Volleyball teams both had excellent runs and made postseason appearances that they will be able to build on for the future, and we were here for all of it.
It’s been a great year, and like every week, this was the best show we put on. To add some spice, Reilly Chestnut joined Brenden Snow and Oliva Chaney to talk about the outstanding game the Texas State Women’s Basketball put on Tuesday night, a 93-38 victory over rival UTSA Runners with Brooke Holle having a career and team high 24 points. The game was something that the team looks to build on, but with 11 days off before their next game, it’s still to be determined if this will be helpful rest, or hurtful rust on a team that is really rolling into Sun Belt Conference play H.O.T.!
We also talked about Texas State Men’s Basketball, trying to gloss over the embarrassing loss to Houston Baptist last week and focusing on Wednesday’s match up against DIII McMurry and how this should be a good game for the Bobcats to get before they to go on a little bit of break during Finals week. The debate raged between the group whether or not having Sophomore Nijal Pearson being the main scorer on this team helping or hurting the teams progress and growth.
Thank you to everyone that listened to us every week.
You can check out the Riding Pine podcast right now on the KTSW Blog and the Texas State Student Media’s SoundCloud account and we will be back with even MORE Bobcat Radio in January. Thank you for a great semester!
