On Monday, the show was dominated by Texas State’s favorite son, Paul Goldschmidt. Recently, Goldschmidt was in New Braunfels hosting an event he puts on every year for Texas State Athletic Boosters and Texas State Baseball. Monday show co-host Alex Gibbs was able to attend the event and came back with a number of stories and good quotes from the All Star First Basemen.
The group also talked about Texas State Softball and their recent success this past weekend going 2-2 with another game scheduled for today, Monday the 12th. The debate on how well this team can do with only one true starting pitch was had as well as the question whether or not this team could have a better overall record then the great on the team posted last season.
Texas State Men’s and Women’s Basketball both lost Saturday to UTA, with both teams falling in overtime. The Men’s team is looking rough having dropped five of their last six games and the women’s team is trying to control the two seed for the Sun Belt Conference tournament that beginning of next month. With a lot of the team underclassmen that played large minutes last season, fans should expect the team to make a deep run come playoffs.
