Assistant Sports Director

Bobcat Radio is a 30-minute specialty show discussing everything Texas State and San Marcos sports. Three staff members jump on the mics three times a week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11 a.m. and discuss sports. A guest joins each episode, namely a coach, player or figure close to the athletic programs at Texas State and San Marcos High School.

Josh Orozco, Reilly Low and Jacob Staires break down Bobcat baseball’s match up against the winless Rice Owls. Texas State has been victorious in the last four games against Rice, and the crew previews why this is another huge non-conference opponent for the Bobcats.

As Texas State women’s basketball enters their final home stand this weekend, Bobcat Radio discusses the impact of the Holle twins, Brooke and Bailey Holle, and what they’ve meant to the Maroon and Gold program. After the break, head coach Zenarae Antoine calls into the show to discuss their crucial games against Georgia Southern and Georgia State as well as the importance of highlighting women’s sports.

The crew wraps up with an outlook into the Bobcat’s nationally televised game against UTA and their previous encounter a season ago. Bobcat Radio analyzes the dominance of the men’s basketball team led by the amazing play of all-time leading scorer, Nijal Pearson, and the possibility of Mason Harrell returning to the lineup from injury.
