The Texas State Bobcats are 1-4 in the season after a 37-17 loss at Troy this past Saturday.

The Bobcats had their worst game of the season on both sides of the ball as the Trojans dominated.

Quarterbacks Brady McBride and Tyler Vitt struggled as they were held to a combined 93 yards through the air.

The Bobcats did have some success on the ground with 161 yards on 36 attempts, but it wasn’t enough to overcome their worst passing performance of the season.

The biggest story offensively was that the Bobcats only converted 2 of 15 third down plays.

Defensively the Bobcats could not find an answer for Troy quarterback Gunnar Watson as he had a career day throwing for 338 yards and four touchdowns.

Trojan running back Kimani Vidal broke the 100-yard mark, rushing for 106 yards in what was part of a 150-yard rushing performance for Troy.

The Bobcats are now 1-10 all-time versus the Trojans.

Texas State now has a very difficult road to a winning season as the games don’t get any easier with #14 BYU and #21 Louisiana-Lafayette still to come.

The Bobcats will once again be on the road to the state of Alabama next Saturday when they travel to take on the Jaguars.

South Alabama is currently 1-2 and has not played a game since Sept. 24.
