The Texas State Bobcats fell to 1-6 on Saturday in a blowout loss to #11 BYU in Provo.

BYU showed that they are one of the best teams in the country, dominating every aspect of the game on their way to a 52-14 victory.

BYU quarterback, Zach Wilson, added to his Heisman campaign throwing for 287 yards and 4 touchdowns.

The Cougars put up 579 total yards on offense, dominating both on the ground and through the air.

The Bobcats came out strong, driving 75 yards before quarterback Brady McBride hit receiver Marcell Barbee on a 19-yard pass for the opening touchdown.

It was all BYU from that point on other than a late garbage-time touchdown pass from McBride to Barbee late in the fourth quarter.

Barbee was a bright spot in the otherwise poor performance from the Bobcats. Barbee caught his fifth and sixth touchdowns of the season. He is tied for second in touchdown catches in the Sun Belt.

Though the game was not the best for the Bobcats, it was not unexpected. BYU has dominated in all but one game this season. The Cougars are now 6-0 and likely on their way to an undefeated season.

Texas State will look to bounce back next Saturday as they return to Bobcat Stadium for the first time in over a month as they welcome the Ragin’ Cajuns of Louisiana Lafayette.

The Bobcats are in for yet another test as the Cajuns are now 4-1 after a 24-20 win versus UAB this past Saturday.

While the Cajuns are one of the best teams in the Sun Belt, all of their games other than a week one win over Iowa State has been one-possession ballgames.

Texas State has struggled to close out games in 2020 and could easily be sitting at 4-3 had a few more things gone their way.

Though the record might not show it, this is one of the most talented Texas State teams in recent memory. This week’s matchup with the Cajuns will likely come down to the final few possessions.

This Saturday’s game is Homecoming for the Bobcats and kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Halloween is a lot.

By Gena SysavathWeb Content Contributor Halloween is overrated. I know that it’s an unpopular opinion, but as I grew older, the more overrated Halloween becomes. It’s stressful and time consuming, for like, no real reason? No one has to agree with me, but this article is going to highlight why Halloween is a little too much sometimes. Let’s talk about costumes. Depending on what you are doing on Halloween, you […]
