Kelly Damphousse is wrapping up his first semester as the new president of Texas State University. In our inaugural episode of “State’s Up,” we talk with the president about his vision for the university and how that’s played out in his first few months here. We discuss the university’s “Race to R1,” a record-breaking freshman class, and maintaining a commitment to student and faculty diversity. Plus, just how exactly does President Damphousse, who will tell you to just call him Kelly, seem to be everywhere on campus all at once? Does he have a twin? (SPOILER: No twins that we know of, he just really likes to be where the students and faculty are!)
