“Texas State has a very open community, it feels like it’s also pretty close to where I live, so that is a big bonus factor,” Miller said. “And mainly, all the research opportunities that the campus seems to boast about in their advertisements, and I even see from the students and what they’re doing on social media, they’re doing these amazing projects.”

“Texas State offered a scholarship because I had a good GPA and would allow me to study Aquatic Biology, which isn’t very violent biology, but I still thought was really cool,” Villarreal said.

What is your favorite thing about Texas State?

“Texas State gave me like two really cool jobs after my first year, like I got an internship through it, but I got to do research on Michigan wetlands, and they also gave me a job as a tutor, and I get to work with professors in the biology department,” Villarreal said.

Junior, advertising major, David Moreno, wasn’t expecting to end up at Texas State, but was happy he did.

Why did you decide to go to Texas State?
