“Friday the 13th” brought another week of high school football for the San Marcos Rattlers. This Friday brought the Rattlers 30 minutes down the road to play the Cibolo Steele Knights. Coming into this game the Rattlers were 0-6 and the Knights were 5-1 with their only loss coming to Lake Travis.

Starting off in the first quarter, the Rattlers started off strong on the defensive side by only holding Steele’s offense to only seven points. The Rattlers fed from a few mistakes by the Knights which fed into the defense holding on to their momentum for the first two quarters.

The Rattler offense just could not find any momentum within this game, the Rattler offense was held to zero points until the fourth quarter where the Rattlers got their first touchdown of the game, with the PAT being blocked.

Entering the second quarter, the Steele offense took off, scoring 24 unanswered points in the third quarter. The Rattler offense had no answer for what the Knights had until their first and only score.

When asked about how they were going to enter this game Ory Williams answered, “We just have to enter game as we usually do and try to adjust.” Also, Williams was asked how he planned on coming into this game he stated, “I just needed to protect my QB, that’s always been my main goal every week, I hate to see my QB get sacked.”
