KYLE– A four-month multi-agency investigation concludes with the arrest of three Houston-area suspects connected to organized burglaries from Kyle to Houston.
In a news release, the suspects stole cash from multiple Poco Loco locations, beginning on Nov. 12, 2025, as they traveled from Kyle toward Houston. Kyle Police, in conjunction with Hays County Sheriff’s Office detectives and multiple regional agencies, identified the suspects and were able to link them to other burglary investigations. As a result, Cedric Ryan Scales Jr., 19; Isaiah Jacob Jaramillo, 23; and Ca’Den Dejuan Johnson, 21, all of Houston, were charged with burglary of a building and engaging in organized criminal activity.
All three arrests were connected to a separate stolen firearms investigation in Angleton, Texas. Johnson was arrested Dec. 8, 2025, by the Angleton Police Department, Jaramillo was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force on Jan. 13, 2026, and Scales was arrested March 5, 2026, also by the task force.

According to Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett, the Kyle Poco Loco location was broken into at about 1:33 a.m. while the business was closed, with a little over $1,000 in cash stolen.
Barnett said it is believed that the Poco Loco locations were targeted due to the possible similarity of each business location.
“Experience tells me it’s just a store that once you become familiar with the physical layout of the facility and where they typically keep money in those common businesses, they tend to try to burglarize the same business because their operations are the same and money tends to be kept in the same location throughout that business, regardless of what town it’s in,” Barnett said.
It was determined that all locations were broken into during closed business hours and investigators were able to use security cameras at the Kyle location to get a general description of a potential car and potential suspects.
Barnett said they learned that Elgin PD, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and Giddings PD had also experienced very similar burglaries within the same 24-hour period.
“Through communicating with those agencies and determining if they had any potential investigative information, we learned that it was likely that it was the same suspect or suspects that had committed the same burglary in Kyle as well as in their communities,” Barnett said.
“They used cameras from near the burglary locations to determine that they were, in fact, dealing with the same suspect vehicle.”
He said investigators were then able to learn that the vehicle had been used in other criminal offenses. With the use of license plate reader camera systems throughout Texas, they obtained a license plate on that vehicle, which determined the owner of the vehicle and the occupants of the vehicle at the time the thefts were committed.
After using camera footage from within each of the businesses to match the suspects, they were able to attain arrest warrants for the three suspects, with the help of the U.S. Marshal Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force to locate two of them.
“That group in particular is always very supportive of assisting local law enforcement agencies find individuals that have outstanding warrants, and in particular those that across multiple jurisdictions where we can use their expertise and their manpower,” Barnett said.
“Obviously, committing a burglary in the middle of the night can be a dangerous situation. So, getting them into custody more quickly and safely is always a benefit, so we’re very thankful to the U.S. Marshals for their time and efforts and expertise.”
Barnett said he appreciates businesses taking their safety seriously and investing in alarm systems, as well as the collaborative work from each agency to keep the community safe.
“The biggest part of this story other than some criminals being apprehended is just the fact that it shows how law enforcement cooperates with each other and share information, even hundreds of miles across the state of Texas,” Barnett said.
“We’re thankful for all those agencies that participated in this investigation. I’m very proud of our own detectives that put in the time and effort to make sure that this burglary did not go unsolved.”
