The lights dipped lower, and the room shifted. Phones went up instinctively. Fans leaned forward as MGNA Crrrta took the stage, joined earlier in the night by opener Tommy Fleece. The first track rolled in, setting the tone with “Armageddon.” The bass came in heavy, immediate, something you felt more than heard.

Formed in New York City, MGNA Crrrta is made up of Farheen Khan and Ginger Scott, who began releasing music around 2022 after building a following online. Farheen Khan and Ginger Scott first met as kids on a Minecraft roleplaying server, bonding over internet culture and eventually turning that same chaotic, hyper-online energy into music. Their sound pulls heavily from 2010s EDM and electroclash. Distorted, playful, and a little unhinged in a way that feels intentional.
Like many acts in the electronic scene, the duo thrives on unpredictability. Peak girl music, I would call it. Their music feels like it’s constantly on the verge of collapse, how it sounds glitchy, loud and always on 10.
Even without knowing every track, the crowd responded like it did. The energy stayed constant, building and collapsing in waves. Lights flashed in sharp bursts, cutting through fog and silhouettes. At times, it was hard to distinguish where the music ended and the room began.

“4me?” was a standout moment. We play this track at the station, and when it comes on, DJ Cobatron and I always dance, so hearing it live was magical. The room compressed, bodies moving closer. The sound system rattled through your chest, down your spine. It was loud in a way that felt intentional, although Cobe and I were victims of the bass that night. Don’t leave your plugs at home.
There wasn’t much talking between songs. The set moved quickly, one track bleeding into the next, leaving little room to breathe. And then, just as suddenly as it started, it ended. A quick acknowledgment, a wave and they were gone. No encore, no drawn-out goodbye.
Outside, the air felt cooler than expected. People lingered on the sidewalk, decompressing in small groups. Someone asked for a lighter. Someone else complimented my outfit. The usual post-show ritual unfolded. Brief connections, half-finished conversations and shared comedowns. Thank you MGNA Crrrta and come back soon.
