SXSW and U.S. Postal Service Pay Tribute to Rock’n’Roll Legend Jimi Hendrix

By: Monica Solis This year's SXSW Film gave me the opportunity to check out some incredible films, but, I must confess, the must-see's on my list were music documentaries and biopics. I mean, c'mon, you don't get into college radio for nothing. One such film I anticipated was "JIMI: All Is by My Side," a biopic of guitar legend Jimi Hendrix, which was directed by John Ridley ("12 Years a Slave"). "JIMI" had its U.S. premiere […]

SXSW: ‘Break Point’ Cast and Crew Interview

By Jordan Gass-Poore'   I want to start out this post by saying that actor Jeremy Sisto's appearance at this year's SXSW was one of the reasons why I wanted to attend... I'm just not going to lie to myself anymore. I've been a huge fan of the former HBO series Six Feet Under since I was a wee high school freshman and would forgo sleep to watch weeknight reruns […]

SXSW 2014: ‘Two Step’ Interview

By Jordan Gass-Poore' I spoke with some of the cast of Austin-shot movie Two Step during SXSW 2014, including stars Skyy Moore, James Landry Hebert (my fellow French last namer) and recent Austin transplant Beth Broderick of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch fame, which I would watch religiously on ABC's TGIF (remember that?) as a child. I also interviewed former and current Austinites, Two Step star Ashley Spillers and the movie's writer/director […]
