We’ve got a week full of bands and awesome coming your way on Other Side Drive this week, so let’s get right to it!
This Monday, your hosts Stephanie and Reyna are bringing you two in-studios! First they’ll be talking to Austin’s Holy Wave! This five-member band hails from El Paso and plays a psychedelic, surf-rock sound that you can just get lost in. They’ve got some tracks here so check that out and then tune in Monday to learn more about this awesome band!
The second in-studio is with The Rocketboys, a great indie band from Austin, Texas who is currently on their Spring tour! They’ve played SXSW, they released their album Build Anyway last summer, and overall this band is doing big things! Their next show is slated for Tuesday night at Austin’s Stubb’s but they’re stopping by the KTSW studios Monday so keep it tuned for that interview!
If you missed the festivities of KTSW’s Back to School Bash (and seriously–it was quite festive), then here’s your second chance! KTSW and Bring Your Friends is putting on the Valentines Day Bash at Taxi’s! Henry and The Invisibles, The Couch, Ghost of Dixie, Forty Dead Men and Michael Monsour will be providing the evening’s entertainment and it’s sure to be just as fun–if not better–than the first time around.
The 1970s spawned some eternally-classic rock & roll and some short-lived but still catchy disco but we cannot forget the funk. This Friday, Jose and David will be in the studio with Kool and Together— a recently-reunited funk band that started playing together again in 2011 after a thirty-year hiatus! Their brand of funk is something called Black Rock, a fusion of Motown soul and psychedelic funk and they’ll be talking about all that good stuff this Friday so tune in and learn more!
As always, keep it tuned to Other Side Drive Monday through Friday at 4 PM!
